Oddkin Textile Trades

Do you have some sad or pre-loved old wool textiles tucked away? Shrunken or moth-eaten sweaters? Out-of-fashion wool skirts, jackets, or pants? Felted wool scraps? Blankets with holes or stains?

I'd love to give them a second life, and in exchange for your textiles I'll make you a Mini Oddkin incorporating a piece of them!

Textile Trade Instructions:

1. Send me an email: Email me at katie@oddkinstudiocreations.com with the subject line "Textile Trade" and include clear photos or a short video of the textiles you'd like to donate.

2. I'll take a look: If I can use them, I'll send you my mailing address. You'll mail the textiles at your own shipping expense. (I'll reply either way, even if they're not a good fit.)

3. I'll make you a Mini Oddkin: Within one month of receiving your package, I'll create a one-of-a-kind Mini Oddkin incorporating a piece of your donated textile and ship it to you at my expense.

4. Everyone wins: Your well-loved textiles get a second life, I get beautiful reclaimed materials to create with, and you receive a tiny keepsake made from something that was once yours. ♡

Wool Textiles I'm Looking For:

  • Wool sweaters (felted or unfelted)
  • Wool skirts, jackets, pants, or other garments
  • Wool blankets
  • Wool felt or wool fabric scraps
  • Cashmere, lambswool, merino, angora, alpaca, and other animal-fiber textiles
  • I'm particularly on the lookout for whimsical colors and patterns!

Don't worry if they're shrunken, stained, or have moth holes—those imperfections are often completely usable for my purposes!

Things I Can't Use

  • Very stretchy knits that won't hold their shape
  • Extremely thick or bulky wool that's difficult to sew
  • Very thin or loosely knit wool that becomes see-through when stretched
  • Synthetic fleece, acrylic, polyester, or other non-animal-fiber fabrics
  • Textiles with strong odors, mildew, or significant pet damage
  • Some colors are not desirable for me as I have too much already

I'm so excited to trade with you and help give these beautiful old textiles another life!
