Custom Memory Oddkin

A childhood blanket. A worn-out shirt. A favorite dress that still carries the shape of someone you miss. The fabric may be faded, frayed, or no longer wearable—but the memories are still intact.
A Custom Memory Oddkin is a delightful way to give those materials a second life.
I take your sent-in textiles and transform them into a one-of-a-kind Oddkin keepsake: a soft monster or animal doll shaped by the story your fabric already holds. Each piece is handmade slowly and intuitively, letting the original material guide the personality, form, and emotional tone of the finished creature.
Your finished Oddkin can become a small memory guardian—something you can hold when you want to feel close to a time, a place, or a person who matters to you.
What you'll send:
You can send clothing or textiles that hold meaning to you, such as:
- baby clothes or childhood garments
- loved ones’ clothing
- quilts, blankets, or fabric scraps
- pieces from important life moments
What you’ll receive:
- A handmade, one-of-a-kind Oddkin (it can be any animal or design)
- Created from your original textiles
- A soft character shaped by the memory held in the fabric
- A small note about the creature that emerges from your materials
How it works:
1. Inquire about your project: Send an e-mail with your project idea to katie@oddkinstudiocreations.com
2. I will reach out to you: I will connect with you via e-mail to discuss your vision. Via e-mail or phone call (whichever you prefer) we will decide what kind of creature your Memory Oddkin will be, any details you wish to incorporate, and anything else to clarify the direction of your project.
3. Mail me your special textiles: You will receive mailing instructions and you’ll ship your chosen fabrics to me. Rest assured, I will treat them with the utmost reverence.
4. I will take my time creating your precious Memory Oddkin: This is the kind of project that cannot be rushed. I will spend time with what you’ve sent—feeling into texture, color, weight, and memory before any design begins. I'll create your doll or monster slowly, allowing the materials to guide what it becomes. I ask for somewhere between 2 and 4 weeks to complete your project once I have received your textiles.
5. Your special Oddkin comes home to you: Your finished Memory Oddkin is carefully packaged and sent back to you, ready to live somewhere close by again and create a set of new memories.
Important Notes
Irreversible Transformation: Because each piece is made from sentimental materials, I treat every project with extra care and intention. By sending your textiles, you are placing your trust in my hands to honor what they hold, and I don’t take that lightly. Once received, your textiles will be reimagined and transformed and cannot be returned in their original form. Rest assured, you’ll be involved throughout the process. I’ll check in with you along the way to make sure the project is moving in a direction you feel good about and are pleased with.
Shipping Notes: You are responsible for the cost of shipping your textiles to me. Please ensure they are packaged securely. I am not responsible for lost, delayed, or damaged packages in transit to me, as these items are handled by third-party shipping carriers once they leave your possession. I recommend using a tracked and insured shipping method for peace of mind.
